Competition is great in the market world today and in order to get your business noticed, you will need good corporate identity management. You need to bring together all of the good qualities of your company as well as emphasizing what a great benefit your company will be to those who use your services. Good corporate identity management will do just that if handled properly. It will give your business a clear positioning towards your customers and prospective customers as well as your staff, suppliers, authorities, and even your competition. By making your business easily recognizable to those who want what your selling, corporate identity management will also play a key role in the development and maintenance of your business, and keep it running like a well oiled machine. In today's world, we are all bombarded with information, every waking minute. Globalization increases competition, products are interchangeable, and new products come to the market at an ever faster rate. Every business is competing for our attention. Selection of a supplier is not solely based on price or availability anymore; customers have the luxury to choose suppliers they can identify with. That is why your company will need an edge of some kind so that when people decide they need the service that you're offering, either your logo, or a witty saying, will automatically pop into the consumers head, in turn, they will seek you out. However, your business image is not the only thing that will get you noticed. How the press and advertisers perceive your company will rub off on the public also, so you will always need to stay consistent and make a good impression.

Consistency is very important in the business world today, unless you want to loose your business before it even gets off the ground, you can't say one thing then completely do another. In order to ensure consistency in communication, you may need to ask for help from someone who know what their doing when it comes to corporate identity management. There are many good organizations that can help you do just that. They can take your company and create something that will be distributed all over, no matter what you're selling. Another important aspect is that your staff needs to be able to identity with your company's corporate identity so they feel comfortable with it. From your company's reception area, to telephone manners, the design of all printed materials and Web sites, to public relations, every aspect of a business has to breathe its Corporate Identity to be believable and distinguishable. Only then will your business have the chance of being taken seriously in the market, and ultimately to succeed. The primary idea behind a corporate identity program is everything your business does, own, and service it provides, should project a clear idea of what you and your business goals are. A good corporate identity management system works well and keeps the important things on tract.

Employment is on the rise and with it, the return to attractive compensation packages and salary levels. After several down years in the employment market that was the result of the normalization of an inflated stock market and the beginning of the War on Terror, employers are constructing compensation packages with an eye to drawing dedicated employees.

During the economic bubble of the late nineties, employers were in head-to-head competition with each other to offer benefits and salaries that would draw the best employees. For job seekers, that environment was almost a pick and choose situation in which they could nearly name their salary and benefits package. Many of the dot coms, flush with venture capital, were offering performance incentives that included sports cars, trips around the world, in-office massages, and ping pong tables in the employee lounge. The goal was to attract and retain quality employees.

Employees are looking for something other than Aeron chairs and Hermann Miller office accoutrements in today’s job market. Workers who were bitten hard by the post-9/11 reduction in force and layoff epidemic are looking more toward corporate stability as an attraction in a new employer.

“I was laid off three times in the twelve months after 9/11. Each time, the company had lost funding and run out of cash,” states Randy McEwen, a sales executive, “Now I am just looking for a company that has a stable record of growth and a good future. Latte machines in the lounge are nice but I’d prefer a group insurance plan that includes dental.”

McEwen’s concern about stability and traditional benefits is not unusual among job seekers. With the rising cost of health care, insurance coverage tops the list of desired benefits. Corporate soundness is also a high priority as employees recover from the layoffs of the first half of this decade. Employees are less likely to apply to a company that offers stock options as an incentive since so many still hold worthless stock options from previous employers. The term “pre-IPO” no longer holds pull with job seekers.

“Pre-IPO just means they throw lots of promises at you but no real benefits,” states McEwen, “Give me a good 401K match instead.” Such cynicism is fairly common among professionals who were burned by start-ups. Caution is being exercised by job seekers as they seek to make a career step or change.

As a job seeker, what can you do to weed out the stable companies from the ones on wobbly legs? Here are a few tips:

Examine the company record. You should find out about the company before you go on the first interview. Is it public or private? If it is public, what is the stock trading at and what has been the performance record for the past 18 months? If it is private, how long has it been in business and how large is its market? This information will give you a starting point on gaining perspective and will also provide you with fodder for the interview.

Look at the market. Is the market the company services growing or shrinking? Is it a niche market with one large customer or is it broad and ripe with competition? Who is the competition?

Think like an investor. As an employee, you will be investing a majority of your life in this company; therefore, you need to think like an investor. Is this a company you feel is on the right path to success? Is the leadership sound? Are the numbers in the financials good? Do they have a high employee turnover rate?

What is in the benefit package? Benefits like 401K matching, profit sharing, and good health plans show a company cares about investing in its employees. These are the benefits that show the degree of value a company places in its employees.

Evaluating a company before entering into the dance of interviewing can save both parties a great deal of time and effort. Companies do not want to make a bad hire and job seekers do not want to sign on with a company only to have to start looking for a job again in six months. Doing a little homework ahead of time will serve you well.

Business cards significance in the business industry cannot be over emphasized. In fact, it is the foremost tool used by businessmen and other business enthusiasts for networking their products and services.

We cannot deny the blatant fact that competition nowadays is pretty stiff. Anyone who takes it for granted and not lift a finger to compete will be way left behind. This is the very reason why businessmen and their pools of marketing experts are planning a wise and easy strategy to capture their target market. They are poring over marketing tools and advertisements. They want to conquer the mass media. But what is the easiest way to reach the top? Is it worth spending a lot?

For big companies, spending a big sum is of no worry. Obviously, they have the finances. Networking and marketing are essential to them to keep the goodwill and corporate identity. However, to starting businesses and to those still struggling, networking and marketing slash the pocket. Thus, making known their corporate identity is taxing for them. They cannot subscribe to pompous ads. They cannot spend more than what they have thus, an inexpensive alternative must be sought. Good thing we have handy and effective business cards to back them up!

Business cards may seem so tiny but they have the influence to boost your business. They are not only effective but inexpensive as well. Compared to other networking and marketing tools, business cards are far more effectual and practical. Nevertheless, they must pass quality and meticulous planning, printing and distribution process so as to achieve their full potentials. Planning is the key factor why we have effective business cards. It is the initial phase where we get to conceptualize what we want to come up. Business cards printing is an essential phase in the undertaking. The design, colors, images and logo of business cards must instantly reflect the corporate identity of the business. The design and printing process must be of high-quality to have an excellent outcome. Bear in mind that catchy, meaty and functional business cards grab the thing that you desire most. Finally, business cards have to be delivered. But one common mistake interferes in the smooth-sailing process. This mistake must be avoided at all cost. And what is this big mistake? It is distribution to the wrong persons. Hence, give business cards to your real business leads. Or else you will just be throwing away your hard-earned money!

Defining Corporate Identity, Brand Identity & Brand Image

Brand identity is the complete package of a business to its customers. It includes the company’s service reputation, product quality, features, benefits, performance and value. It is the summation of all these things, which create brand identity.

1. Corporate identity.
Corporate identity is a company’s visual presence, which involves the corporate logo and design strategy for corporate marketing collateral. Corporate identity does not encapsulate brand identity, which is best defined as the soul of your company. However, a corporate identity may, and often does, reflect a brand identity. But some ad agencies, marketing companies and graphic design agencies would have you believe that brand identity is the same thing as corporate identity and that changing a logo or design strategy will change the brand identity. However, this is not the case. There are many intangible factors that weigh in on a brand identity. Such cosmetic changes can help a brand identity by making it evident to customers that a company cares about its appearance, but that’s about the extent of its power. A corporate identity does, however, need to evolve with the times. Failure to do so can negatively affect a company’s brand identity, but care must also be taken to not overly revise the presentation of a brand, lest customers be concerned about the state of a company. Corporate identity, along with organizational culture, product quality, service reputation, features, benefits, performance and value, are some of the key factors of brand identity.

2. Brand Identity - It’s the essence of your company.
Brand identity is the complete package of a business to its customers. It includes the company’s service reputation, product quality, features, benefits, performance and value. It is the summation of all these things, which create brand identity.

3. Brand image.
Brand Image is the market’s perception of your brand identity, which may or may not coincide with your intended brand identity. Companies must work hard at the daunting task of getting brand identity and image to align…or hire a true branding company.

A branding company can show you how success starts with the brand identity. Do you have a branding strategy? Are your employees aware of it and able to be ambassadors for your company’s brand during interactions with the outside world? Are you making the most strategically sound decisions for your brand? Do you know your customers’ perceptions of your brand?

If your answer is “no” to any of those questions, take the first step in being able to answer yes to all of them and success.

When planning your corporate events for the coming year, consider implementing a team building day to strengthen your company’s ability to work together, and at the same time enjoy a break from the pace of the daily work routine. Taking some time to improve employee relations, practice good teamwork, and reinforce your common goals has numerous benefits for everyone involved.

Corporate events can provide a great opportunity for everyone to relax or re-energize, share ideas, and reaffirm your shared commitment to creating success. The form that events take during a team building day can vary widely, limited only by the imagination. Particularly under the guidance of a trained professional, team building activities can help target any problem areas your company has been having, ease tensions, provide valuable reminders of the elements of successful teamwork, and create an enjoyable way to interact with coworkers. The payoffs can be huge, contributing to better morale on the job, and a more harmonious work environment. With an improvement in job satisfaction comes lower staff turnover and absenteeism, and improved productivity overall.

Some popular corporate team building activities include everything from cooking, to team sports, to simulations of “reality” television shows, and beyond. Activities can be chosen to reflect your team’s interests, or tailored to suit virtually any group. The main emphasis should be on fun, fairness, and cooperation – the benefits should follow naturally.

Taking the time to invest in your people will help demonstrate your belief in their value, and your dedication to helping them succeed. Teamwork is something that requires occasional nurturing, and is all too often neglected in the hectic pace of events at work. Over time, if neglected, you may end up with a group of talented yet frustrated individuals who are not able to adequately organize themselves without a more formal structure.

Find an enjoyable way to revitalize your company and keep people happy, focused, and motivated, working towards common goals. There are many professional resources available to help you along the way. Start by doing some browsing of the books or websites out there by business consultants with expertise in organizational development and team building. You are sure to find something to inspire and get your team back on track. Once you have some ideas, consider bringing in a professional to guide your team through the process. An objective outsider can provide just the advice and unbiased facilitation approach needed to help everyone relax, and enjoy the departure from your everyday roles.

Make the most of this opportunity to reunite your aims and efforts towards mutual success and satisfaction on the job. Teambuilding is a valuable endeavor at any stage of your company’s development, whether you are new, restructuring, or well established but in need of some rejuvenation. Do what it takes to retain your most valuable assets, your people, and ensure greater success for all.

For an event to actually transform and cement new ways of working together, it has to offer more than just lip service and a group trip to go fly-fishing.

Successful corporate team building events have a number of elements in common:

1. The opportunity to see the roadblocks to successful communication and teamwork

2. The chance to see co-workers in unfamiliar roles and situations

3. The necessity to work together toward a common goal

4. The support needed to forge productive new ways of working together

Good corporate event planners take those cut-and-dried concepts and turn them into a fun learning experience. The true geniuses in the corporate event world can create amazing and transforming events that will shake up your organization and wake up inspiration that you never knew existed in your company. Experienced planners of team building events know how to bring your coworkers and employees together in new ways that highlight the strengths you know they have, and show them how to use those strengths to build a solid service or production team that simply can't be beat.

Chillisauce, a UK company that specializes in corporate events and group tours, explains that team building challenges can be beneficial in highlighting how work obstacles are overcome by working together. Among the fun team building activities that they've offered are a Limousine Treasure Hunt, a Spy Mission, Dragon Boat Racing and the opportunity to participate in It's a Knockout!

Other companies plan 'Service Days' that may include building a children's playground for charity or pitching in to completely renovate a home for a local charity. In any case, the value of the day is in the lessons carried home at its end - that the team can overcome anything by getting to know each other and working together - as a team with unique members.

If you think that the major airlines are the only job possibilities for flight attendants, then you're missing out on one of the fastest growing areas in the aviation industry. In the wake of 9/11, many of the major airlines cut back on flights in reaction to the decreased demand for air travel among the general public. In response, many corporations have turned to either manning their own mini-air forces, or to hiring smaller airlines for their business and corporate trips. If you've never considered corporate flight attendant jobs, the differences may surprise you.

Salaries vary for corporate flight attendant jobs, but are generally better than commercial flight attendant jobs.

First, the nitty-gritty. Expect that those hiring for corporate flight attendant jobs will be looking for experienced flight attendants - two or more years in flight experience is the norm. You may need to relocate to be where the corporate flight attendant jobs are - the big jobs in corporate flying are in Los Angeles and New York. That said, the salaries for corporate flight attendants tend to run between $33,000 and $100,000 depending on the type of company for which you fly. There are several types of players in the corporate flight arena:

Fractional Operators are airlines that service several corporations, giving each business partial ownership of the airline. They'll generally pay the least of all the corporate operators, though there are exceptions. Starting salaries are in the $30,000 range, depending on flight miles logged. Many fractional operators don't require any previous corporate flight attendant training, and will train you to their own specifications. Each company has its own requirements, to which you'll have to adapt. One other advantage to working for a fractional operator is that where you live may not be as important, as they'll often allow you to airline to meet up with a plane.

Charter Operators pay a bit more as a general rule. Corporate flight attendant jobs with charter operators often offer a starting salary of $40,000. Charters let their aircrafts and crews for individual runs rather than having them on standby for part owners or full owners, therefore you're likely to log more in air hours than with either other model. The actual salary that you're offered will depend on your experience and the location of the hiring company, but the average salary for corporate flight attendants working for charter operators is $53,000.

Owner Operators are companies that own their own aircraft and staff them with their own employees. The salaries vary widely from company to company, as do the expected duties. Corporate flight attendants working for an owner operated corporate airline may make as little as $25,000 - and be expected to do everything from take dictation to serve coffee - or as much as $100,000 if they supervise other flight attendants.

One other thing that deserves mention is the possibly of flying 'contract'. Much like working long-term temp nursing or other assignments, a contract corporate flight attendant is available to work on a contract basis through an assignment agency. Pay is often $350 and up per diem when you're on assignment, and may include transportation to and from the flight's originating city and a meals allowance.

Corporate flight attendant jobs are often considered to be the elite jobs in the flight crew world. If you're interested in corporate flight attendant jobs, you'll find more information by joining a discussion forum devoted to flight attendants and crew.

Corporate Gift Ideas Guide is set up to help you foster and seal that business relationship that you have established or perhaps take it to a whole new order. The benefits with gift giving can never be understated. These days I can't help but yawn whenever I see the market flooded with tons of the same old gifts and more often than not, it looks cheap and you could tell how much effort or the lack of it has been put into the making of these gifts.

With the invention of Internet, shopping for that special and unique corporate gift is just a mouse click away! However, the portals on the World Wide Web( WWW ) have grown at such enormous speed that it often difficult but possible to locate that prized gift for the customers.

Over here, we are constantly seeking for unique, uncommon and creative gift to woo your customers so that you can focus on what you do best, serve your recipient! I will stop here for now...

Is there really a perfect corporate gift idea? Well, maybe not. But some ideas are certainly better than others, and your creativity is the only limit when it comes to your options. Many gift ideas center around things that can actually be used in the office. Still others are things that can be used at home. Some corporate gift is of a more personal nature. Which is the right way to go for your gift idea? Here are my thought.

Gifts For The Office
Some of the best gift ideas are items that can be used at the office. This includes a nice desk organizer, an executive pen set, picture frames, clocks, mouse pad, thumbdrive etc. The virtue of a gift idea for the office is that it strengthens the relationship you have with the person you're giving it to. Each day at work, your recipient will have a reminder of you close by, and this will make the gift more valuable to him or her. Apart from that, people just love gifts they can use!

A good corporate gift idea for the office is one that relates to work you and your recipients are familiar. If you are yearning for a promotion, give the boss a portrait drawing of him! Choose something that is specific to that if possible, but if not, any of the corporate gift ideas for the office mentioned above are usually a hit.

Gifts For The Home
Some gift ideas are perfect for home use, but it's important that you choose something that your recipients are likely to actually use at his or her home. It's not always easy to know what a fellow individual's lifestyle is like at home, so this is a corporate gift idea that takes a little more careful selection. If they like to cook, there is excellent food baskets with ingredients ready to cook you might try. But what if they don't like to cook? Chocolate and candy basket will be a great choice if the recipient has children in the house. Unless you know the person you're giving your corporate gift well, stick with corporate gift ideas for the office. That way you know what they can use and what would be acceptable on their desk or around their work area.

Personal Corporate Gifts
It's nice when you know your recipient well, and maybe even know each other socially outside of the office setting. In these instances, you might come up with some corporate gift ideas that are of a more personal nature. Of course, if you know them personally, something for the home shouldn't be too difficult to think of either. Just think of them as much as your friend and proceed from there.

Believe it or not, gift certificate can be send via an email or snail mail if you need a gift fast ! Your imagination is the limit.

Whatever the occasion may be, Corporate Gift Ideas will have a corporate gift giving idea to share!

Communication & Corporate Social Responsibility

Behind the words of the Corporate Social Responsibility lie some simple, but effective communication strategies, including a simple message, a good guys vs bad guys positioning, and passion for the cause.

Keywords:

corporate social responsibility, CSR, communication, strategy

Article Body:

In the past few years, the anti-corporate movement (including those opposed to globalization) has gained a bit of steam.

What many people in the movement promote now is called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the idea that corporations should be responsible to all of society and the environment, as well as to shareholders.

It's a shame they've gained momentum. After all, without modern corporations we would all be poorer, and in particular, few of us could expect to retire comfortably. More than anything else, modern corporations exist to provide pension income.

Sure, corporations used to be owned by a few, extremely rich people. But, with the widespread adoption of pension funds and mutual funds, corporations now belong mostly to working people.

While it's true the average working person has far, far less wealth than the average billionaire, there are many, many times more working people. That means company and government pension plans can invest vast sums of money into capital stock, making working class people the largest shareholders of many corporations.

From a communication perspective, I'm interested in knowing why Corporate Social Responsibility gets such good media coverage and so much attention. I'm also interested in knowing what we, as communicators, can learn from them.

For starters, the anti-corporate movement has a simple message: "Corporations have too much money and power; working people don't have enough," or some variation on that theme. On the other hand, my defence of corporations above is anything but simple, even though I'm pretty good at capturing ideas in words. Did your eyes glaze over as you read my description?

The 'anti' movement also enjoys the luxury of making a good (poor working people) versus bad (rich corporations) argument. That's a moral argument, one that adds spice to any news story. On the other hand, the 'pro' side works largely with rational discourse and the ideas of economists.

Third, the protestors bring passion to the anti-corporate message. After all, this is a battle of good against evil, isn't it? Again, the defenders of modern corporations and globalization have to rely on the prosaic science of economists.

Fourth, the label 'Corporate Social Responsibility' also helps the anti-corporate movement. Not only does the name act as a unifying point for its advocates, but it also implies that CSR is a good thing. After all, who could be against 'social' and 'responsibility'?

Now, despite their high media profile and ubiquitous presence, the advocates of CSR have a problem. They may be able to win the attention of reporters and editors, but they haven't had much clout with the real decision makers, the people who run companies, pension plans, and mutual funds.

And, the decision makers aren't likely to be swayed. They understand the role of corporations, and they know where their responsibilities lie. Even widespread public sympathy for CSR isn't likely to have much effect, since they report to shareholders, not to society as a whole.

So, perhaps the final lesson we'll take from the anti-corporate movement today is that, sometimes, great communication can only take you so far by itself.

What a minefield! Your business has had a good year and you have decided to remind your loyal customers about how important they are to your business. Hopefully they will continue to buy from you in the future too. The trouble is, looking on the Internet; there are thousands of different corporate gift ideas to choose from that you could give away as freebees. So, what questions do you need to ask yourself and what are some of the options?

How often do they buy from me?

Is it once a week, once a month or once a year? It makes a difference when thinking about what type of gift will best remind them. If it is once a week or once a month, may be you could think about a calendar or memo pad, with your business name on it. Once a year needs a different approach, and the choice corporate gift idea should be something relative to the value of the order. For example, if the value of the order is only small, then the calendar or memo pad idea will be okay here. However, if the value of the order each year has a big impact on your turnover, then perhaps something that will last much longer than the year would work better, i.e. leather or silver desk equipment or more personal gifts, don't forget your company logo though, but make it discreet!

How important are they to the continuing success of my business?

The answer to this question will help you decide how much you want to spend. If you decide they are not important, don't waste too much money - remember you are spending hard-earned profits! The other issue here is whether you want to encourage them to buy more from you, in which case you might want to spend a bit more. This approach doesn't always work, but surely it is worth a try.

How many competitors do you have?

If you have plenty of competitors all trying to get a larger share of the market, it might be a good idea to try and find something a bit more unusual or to try a slightly different approach. Food is always appreciated and the gift can reflect the value. A bar of chocolate with the company logo on, a box of chocolates or a hamper - the choice is endless. I know from experience the number of pens and calendars that are sent at Christmas but what about a keyring or mug or clock?

Who am I trying to remind?

I was trying to explain this to someone the other day. If you are trying to influence the person who places the orders fine, but what about the person who holds the purse strings? You might want to remind them of how your company can help increase their business too. This is the area where it is difficult to decide whether the corporate gift idea is for a quality item or perhaps, if your business is large enough to be able to do this, offer an event.

Over the past few years corporate events have become an industry of their own, and there are a number of websites available for corporate events planning. Events can include days where participants drive, sail, fly or shoot (clay pigeons) or boxes at major sporting events such as Wimbledon, Ascot and Henley. Tickets to film premieres and the theatre are also popular. It all depends on your budget and what you are trying to achieve. The value in terms of additional business has never been proved though, but you could have fun trying!

Lastly, when you speak to your contact or his boss, do you have to go through the secretary first? If so, he or she is a vital link in the chain! Don't forget that the secretary will decide who his or her boss will speak to so a corporate gift idea for them could reap benefits later. Chocolates, flowers, potted plants… all reminders that they are appreciated too.

Promotional corporate gift ideas

This is an extremely large area of business for those organisations offering everything from promotional 'T' shirts to pens, erasers, memo pads, balloons, carrier bags etc. Mainly for the exhibition and conference market, these promotional corporate gift ideas, need to either stand out visually from others or be of a better quality, if the exhibition attendee is to remember the stand and the goods being offered. To my mind, the company that provides the really strong carrier bag to take all the 'freebies' home, is the one that will be remembered longest!

Giving gifts is an incomparable scheme, the goal of that is to bring a smile to the person who will receive the gift. In turn, it leaves a lasting impression on the person that tells how much you value him or her. No wonder why people values the idea of giving and receiving gifts. In reality, gifts are symbols of one’s point of view and feelings towards the other person. They embody our family whenever we are away from our loved ones; our friends back home whenever we pass by the memories of yesteryears, and one’s treasured person when you are at the time of coldness. That is why people put so much value on the gifts that they give and receive because they know how special it is for the person who will receive it as it is for them. When giving gifts, it can either be formal or personal. Things may vary according to who will receive the gift. Usually, it is not difficult to buy a gift for your love ones or for your friends. Unfortunately, when it comes to giving gifts in your corporate circle like your boss, a colleague, or a business partner, careful considerations must be observed. At the same time you must employ some creative thinking in order to come up with a remarkable gift.

1. Gift Giving For The Corporate World

- In Hopes Of A Promotion
- Sign Of Gratitude
- Way Of Saying Thank You
- Peace Offering
- Clear Up A Misunderstanding
- Offer In Good Faith For A Contract Agreement

2. Pay Attention To Details

When it comes to corporate gifts, you should not take it for granted. Every detail must be carefully laid out and must be delicately enhanced. For example, before presenting a corporate gift, be sure that it is undamaged and unspoiled in every detail. Moreover, when presenting or giving corporate gifts, it should fit the taste of the person who will receive it. That is why it is important to consider the taste of the person, the likes and dislikes, and whatever details that will describe his or her preferences.

3. Mugs

For corporate people who addicted to coffee, you can give them mugs of different varieties. You may purchase one from the well-known coffee shops or from those that they frequently hang out. These mugs come in different designs and styles that will truly fascinate your special someone, whether personally or professionally. You can also give them personalized mugs to give that special touch. You can have their pictures printed on the mug or a picture where both of you are included.

4. Crystal Items

For so many years now, crystals are known to exude sheer elegance and sophistication. So, when choosing a gift for your lady boss, it’s best that you give her any items that have crystals on it. The most typical and appropriate gift would be jewelries with various crystals on it. Crystals put a flattering remark on everyone’s good taste and wants; hence, it is best to give them something made of crystal so as to generate positive responses.

5. Scented Candles

These candles will produce the kind of aroma that could relax the senses thereby invigorating renewed spirit and personality. There are scented candles that help eliminate stress and anxieties. Also, scented candles come in creative designs, too. So, they can be creative displays on one’s table. So, it’s a great idea to give your corporate friends some scented candles.

6. Magazine Or Document Rack

For a more uncluttered desk, it’s best to give your co-employee some amusing racks that can hold and organize their papers. A Japanese-inspired magazine or document rack will perk up any desk.

7. Personalized Items

These are the ultimate corporate ideas that you can use when you need to give a gift to your boss or to your colleagues. Giving them personalized items will make them feel how much you value them by exerting such efforts in order to come up with an amusing item. For example, you can buy a clock then add some personal touches like replacing the numbers with colourful buttons.

Corporate Gift Baskets

The Corporate Gift Basket concept has grown hugely over the last few years. Business owners have realised that there is nothing so important as cultivating their relationships, both with their clients and with their most outstanding employees. Fostering and nurturing professional relationships, whether employees, or clients, is absolutely vital to develop and maintain loyalty.

Giving a corporate gift basket really shows that you care --- and if you are able to send a basket which reflects a hobby or a theme of interest to the recipient, your gift basket will be appreciated all the more. For example, if you know the person receiving the corporate gift basket is a keen golfer, then look for golf related gift baskets. Some of the more exclusive gift baskets contain useful items, such as practice golf balls.

It really does pay to get to know your customers and your employees likes and dislikes. On the other hand, if you want to say a big “thank you” then check out gift baskets with that theme. These baskets are particularly appreciated around the holidays, which is an expensive time for most people. Employees with large families may buy gifts for everyone else, and nothing for themselves. When selecting your online corporate gift basket provider, ensure you choose a company which offers quality items, delivered in a timely manner. These two points are absolutely vital. Attention to detail and care in presentation is also important. Whether you are trying to say “Thank You” or “Keep Up The Good Work”, the corporate gift basket is a wonderful way to impress with your thoughtfulness and taste. It is important to ensure that your gift basket is appropriate to the level of relationship you have with the recipient. If anything, then err on the side of being more generous, rather than less. After all, you are trying to further your business relationship with this person, and if they feel you have scrimped or saved a few dollars, the effect of the gift basket will be wasted. If you are sending a corporate gift basket to a client who spends millions with your company, then sending an obviously cheap or badly presented basket could have an adverse effect. Also, sending one basket for an office of fifty people would not look good. On the other hand, sending a basket worth a thousand dollars to someone who spends only a couple of hundred bucks every other year is not economically viable. And what a fabulous way to thank a much valued employee for clinching a lucrative deal for the company, or for completing a project successfully. After receiving a corporate gift basket, it is unlikely that your valuable employee will be vulnerable to being head-hunted any time soon.

There is no better way to show you appreciate and value your employees. Sending a corporate gift basket is virtually guaranteed to win the hearts of your employees. Personalising the basket is important, especially for high spending clients. Everyone likes to be treated as an individual, rather than a group. Maybe you can afford to send two baskets --- one for the office, and one for the individual? The benefits of sending a luxury corporate gift basket are long term --- you will be reaping the rewards for many years to come.

Corporate Flight Attendant Career: Getting Hired

Passing through training is an all important step toward securing work as a corporate flight attendant. The next step, getting hired, has its own special challenges.

So, you’ve made it through the interview process and have received an offer of an employment. Congratulations! However, there are some things to consider before accepting or rejecting an offer of employment. How you reply to these questions will determine whether the job offer is really worth it:

Is this a full time, part time, temporary, or contract position? As obvious as it seems, you may be getting an offer different from what you originally applied. Try to get in writing the official offer -- if it involves heavy-duty legal language consider contacting an employment specialist or an attorney for guidance.

Will you be paid hourly, per diem, by the job, or by an hourly salary? How many hours are you expected to work? Does the company pay overtime? Bonuses? Profit Sharing? Is this position with a “91” operator [meaning lengthy crew duty days] or with a 135 operator [with limited duty days]?

Will you be a flight attendant? A cabin attendant? A host/hostess? Titles make a difference because the level of pay and training will depend on how high the position is. Will your new company pay for initial and recurrent training, i.e., FACTS or FlightSafety? Do they even require it? What other training is offered?

What will your benefits be? Will you have full health and dental coverage? Will you be covered under an HMO, PPO, POS, or some other plan? Is your company self insured, i.e. they aren’t utilizing the services of a health care provider, but paying as they go? What portion of the insurance costs will you pay? What are the caps on insurance? Are prescriptions covered? How about family members – are they covered?

What sort of retirement plan is offered? 401(k)? Traditional pension plan? No plan? Can you afford to work for the salary offered and be responsible for your own retirement? How much vacation days will you receive? Paid holidays? Hard days vs. soft days? Personal and sick days?

Will the company reimburse you for education expenses? Eyeglasses? Out of pocket expenses? Will they provide a cellular phone, laptop computer, or PDA? What other miscellaneous benefits are offered? How is catering handled? Aircraft supplies? Uniforms? Will you have to pay for it and seek reimbursement? How long does it take to be reimbursed? Does the company offer cash advances? Will you be given a company credit card? What types of hotels do crewmembers stay in?

Be prepared to seek an upward adjustment in the salary offer if you believe that the offer is too low or if you will have to pay more out of your own pocket for benefits than what is customary.

Other considerations: Exactly whom will you be reporting to? What is the company’s policy on promotions? On layoffs (severance, notice, etc.) To whom can you go to if a problem arises?

Speech is a viable means to honor a person in our day-to-day life. But apart usual living in areas like corporate sector, words are not enough to regard an employee’s outstanding contribution; there ought to be something more to proclaim his attainment. For this, the corporate world relies largely on awards. An award is an ideal way to express the unspoken feelings of one and many other individuals towards its recipient. Corporate Team Building Events: Throw ‘Distancing’ to a Distance

The problem in the corporate team building process namely ‘distancing’ is predominantly inherent in employees’ as well as in the employer’s psyche. The corporate houses are spending huge amounts to unite the workforce into an active team. However, how the job is done?

If someone just studies a few recent corporate recruitment advertisements, there will be at least one thing he or she will find common in almost all of them. The recruiters are putting much emphasis on hiring a one-team man rather than a one-man team, in the management category at least.

In accordance to this shift, the office atmosphere is changing too. CEOs of the companies at present are accessible to general employees more than ever before. The visual distance is cut short. Office decorations are changing with more and more interlinked and free sitting arrangements. At this age, one can never ignore the psychological affect on human beings created by the respective surroundings.

The corporate houses these days are spending huge amounts to unite the workforce into an active team. Active and spontaneous participation of employees in both internal and external affairs of the company and even in the decision making process are regarded as the path of progress.

The main problem in the corporate team building process namely ‘distancing’ is predominantly inherent in employees’ as well as in the employer’s psyche. It is one of the basic instincts of human beings.

The primary team building process is constantly fighting to throw away ‘distancing’ to a great distance. The ideal corporate team building events concentrate on bringing together employees who do not always get the chance to come in close, if not in personal contact with each other.

The prime ideological stand is that, if an employee does not know his or her co-workers then he or she cannot actively participate to boost up the company profile and morale as a whole. It is all about fixing the SELF, not into the category called OTHER, but under the umbrella named WE.

The corporate event management companies divide the employees into various groups. Apparently, it seems that the process is breaking the basic notion of team building activities, but in fact, it just adds to the notion.

The participants here never feel rivalry among themselves. They are conscious that it is merely a game though they need to win. Thus, they fail to concentrate on the issue that it is a part of the team building exercise tailored by the company. This lack of concentration on the subtle issue ultimately does the trick. The idea of the team is built in the consciousness of the participant that excludes the visual divisions.

The job is done.

However, a Corporate Hospitality Company must be cautious of the standard and socio-cultural background of the participants. Otherwise, the whole process may go in vain.

Corporate Events That Do Double Duty

Granted, when you're dealing with high-powered executives, programmers or salespeople, a Friday afternoon pizza party may not be quite the ticket. Higher goals merit higher rewards - but the principle remains the same. If you're planning a corporate event weekend, then your plans should include all three arms of the success formula - recognition, reward and motivation.

Recently, a teacher whose class regularly scores top marks shared her secret for team building success with me. "It's easy," she told me. "Each week, we set a goal as a class. If we've reached the goal at the end of the week, I treat the class to pizza and a game and then we sit down and plan next week's goal."

There in a nutshell is a tried and true strategy for building and maintaining successful teamwork that any corporate event planner should take to heart. My teacher friend's Friday afternoon 'pizza party' serves a triple function - it recognizes the work achieved, rewards the team for their work, and serves as a springboard for the next goal. To be successful, a corporate event should do three things - recognize, reward and motivate.

Granted, when you're dealing with high-powered executives, programmers or salespeople, a Friday afternoon pizza party may not be quite the ticket. Higher goals merit higher rewards - but the principle remains the same. If you're planning a corporate event weekend, then your plans should include all three arms of the success formula.

This isn't as difficult to do as it may seem. Any corporate event that's meant to recognize and reward contributions to the team can serve as a springboard for planning further successful activities and include team building activities to further cement the bonds of the work group. An event that's planned as a team building weekend could easily include a recognition dinner to reward those members of the team who've made oustanding contributions.

The key to making sure that your corporate event accomplishes all of your goals is careful planning right from the start. Before you decide on the activities for your corporate event, take the time to work out your goals. Is it your aim to reward your employees? Recognize achievement? Motivate your teams? Hammer a group into a team? Once you know what it is that you want to accomplish, it's time to call in the professionals.

A corporate event planner with expertise and experience in team building activities, corporate event planning, outdoor team building and corporate hospitality events can show you a wide range of fun corporate events and activities that will serve any corporate event strategy you have in mind. Even more importantly, they'll bring their own experience to the planning table - and the execution of the event. Using a professional corporate event service means you needn't worry that someone will forget to meet the keynote speaker's plane, and your own key people aren't tying up their time running around to find matching napkins for the company reward dinner.

In the end, choosing to use a corporate event planning service is no different than any other business decision. You hand the work to those that have the best resources to accomplish the task. When it comes to fitting a corporate event to its purpose, a professional event planner can turn your company recognition dinner into a motivating, rewarding and inspiring team building event that will kick your next quarter into high gear.

Corporate Shells.

A corporate shell could be likened to a house that had been occupied by a family. Prior to the family moving out it was a home. But now it is just shell, a skeleton, a plain house with nobody in it, but if a family was to purchase the house and move in, it becomes a home.

A corporate shell could be likened to a house that had been occupied by a family. Prior to the family moving out it was a home. But now it is just shell, a skeleton, a plain house with nobody in it, but if a family was to purchase the house and move in, it becomes a home.

Similar, a corporate shell was once the home of an operating company but once the operating company ceases to reside there because of adverse circumstances ( bankruptcy or liquidation ) all that remains is the shell.

Buying and selling corporate shells has become big business, just a couple of years ago a corporate shell sold for approximately $150,000.00 today they go for upward of $500.000.00. Talk about inflation! The increase in price is due to increase scrutiny by the Securities and exchange commission and the demand for shell by Chinese companies seeking to become listed in the United States.

As usual when there is money to be made the vultures appear with their unscrupulous practices. In most cases the shells are own by the same operators who are also acting as consultants to the companies they are helping to become public. This may be a conflict of interest but they are able to hide their ownership well with the help of securities lawyer who may also have a piece of the shell.

The situation described above creates a huge conflict of interest that the regulators have yet to figure out because of the intricacy of the many participant who work in harmony and are able to conceal their actions from the regulators.

If the consultant indirectly own a shell and is trying to sell it to the company that they are advising, how well is he going to represent the client when it comes to price and the amount of shares that they are to Retain? And how about with assisting the company in performing the proper research on the shareholder list and the history of the shell.

Don’t get me wrong there are many honest and well meaning consultants and shell vendors who established the shells for the sole purpose of creating a vehicle for private companies to go public, Just like you have the unscrupulous characters that appear every time there is an opportunity to make money, you also have honest enterprising individual who see an opportunity and take advantage of it.

Once the operating company purchases the corporate shell and merges into it, the owner of the private company receives a majority of the shell corporation stock (usually 90-95% ) through a new issue of stock for the private enterprise.

The public corporation will normally change its name to the private company’s name and elect a new Board of Directors which will appoint the officers of the company. The public corporation will usually have a base of shareholders sufficient to meet the requirements for listing on the Nasdaq Small Cap Market of Nasdaq Bulletin Board. Although some shell have as few as 35-50 shareholders and are currently listed on Bulletin Board or the NQB pink sheets.

At our company we don’t have an inventory of shells nor do we recommend a single vendor, instead we recommend several and after the private company selects a vendor we approach the process as if we were buying the shell for ourselves.
