Custom Packaging and Shrink Wrappings: An Important Role In Selling Your Product

When manufacturers first consider a product, they often discount the issue of packaging. They seem to think such decisions can wait until the product is ready for production.

When manufacturers first consider a product, they often discount the issue of packaging. They seem to think such decisions can wait until the product is ready for production. In many cases this may be true. However, some thought must go into packaging very early in the design process; because if a product requires custom packaging or shrink wrappings this could play a vital role in the budgeting and marketing of that product.

Let us face it, as consumers we love custom packaging. Something unique and individual that helps pull us into the world of that product. And there is something strangely wonderful about shrink wrappings. It conveys that valuable message: This product was made for you and no one else. And ripping that shrink wrapping makes us truly take ownership of the product.
However, as much as we as consumers may like these things, we as business people understand that custom packaging and even shrink wrappings bring with them unique costs that must be evaluated. Custom packaging may require the use of industrial designers, it may require extra rounds of testing; and shrinking wrappings involve an extra layer of costs which may not be required on all products.

Custom packaging may also present storage and shipping problems. A custom package may not be as easy stacked on a warehouse floor, or as easily prepared for shipping. And although custom packaging often attracts consumers, it may do the opposite. For this reason, your product may need to go through focus group testing on the custom packaging alone. Another cost.
But, on the other hand, we all know a square box can be dull; and we all know that products without shrink wrappings look "cheaper" to many consumers. So where does that leave us?
It leaves us where we often find ourselves when faced with any business decision. It leaves us forced to weigh our options. However, we think there are series of questions you might consider which can help you weigh your options in smart and efficient manner.

In regards to custom packaging, ask yourself these questions: Is your product unique? Does your product require some special understanding or explanation? Does your product appeal to an upscale market? If you answered "yes" to any or all of these questions, then we feel that custom packaging should be considered. Unique products, products which require special explanation, or upscale products can benefit from custom packaging.

In regards to shrink wrappings, ask yourself these questions: Is the product perishable or viewed as perishable? Could handling the product by others easily damage it? And does cleanness or sterility play a role in the use of your product? Again, a "yes" answer to any of these questions means you should at least consider the use of shrink wrappings.

We hope this brief article has helped you get a handle on some of the issues you need to confront when making packaging decisions. Custom packing and shrink wrappings can add value and appeal to your product, but they come with a unique set of costs. Only by properly examining your product and its customer base will you be able to determine if your product is worth this additional expense.

Global Venture Capital: Ernst & Young Reports on Important Trend

One of the most lucrative investment industries, venture capital, underwent a period of tremendous transition last year, and with that transition signaled passage into a new venture landscape.

"The convergence of globalization, Web 2.0, media and innovations in IT and life sciences are further indications that the venture capital industry is operating in a new environment" states a report issued by Ernst & Young that examines the rapidly occurring changes in this market, and the impact that these changes have had on investors.

Global venture investments were the "hotbeds" for venture capitalists last year, with China and India topping the list of global activity. The emerging markets there have created several waves of IPO's, venture-backed business startups, and planned investments by Intel, Cisco, and Microsoft.

With the $4 billion in US funds that were invested in these markets last year, it would seem that global venture capital has saturated the market, but apparently it has only just begun. China and India lead the way, and are still in the early stages of market development for both the economies and consumer-oriented services.

In the areas of technology, these emerging global markets present tremendous opportunity and growth. The market potential, fast-growing economies and advantages in either cost of technology make these global venture investment opportunities extremely attractive to U.S. backed venture capital funding.

While much is being said about the opportunities that lie in these emerging global markets, venture capitalists must remain aware of the potential pitfalls. Some of the most important and difficult challenges that remain to be addressed are the regulations surrounding intellectual property, the lack of local NASDAQ-like exchanges for exit strategies, and the lack of a comprehensive venture capital law in many of these developing and emerging markets.

Designers And Architects – Are Aesthetics More Important Than Practicalities

As a cleaning company we get called in to carry out builders cleans on new builds and refurbishments. Time and time again what we see is that the designer has had something built, laid or put in place solely on the grounds that it looks good with no regard as to how it will stand up to use or the practicalities of trying to keep it clean and looking good. They produce their design, see it through to the finish and then walk away. Only later does it become apparent that it is completely impractical from a cleaning point of view but they do not seem to learn from their mistakes because the same ones keep being repeated.

Let us take some classic examples. Car showrooms are a prime example. Car dealers require a nice environment to show of their brand new cars. So what do you need? A large rectangular space in which to fit the cars. Large windows so that the cars can be viewed easily by passers by. Clean freshly painted walls with some nice pictures placed strategically. A potted plant or two. Modern desks for the sales people. Some colourful stands advertising the products interspersed between the cars. All pretty standard and nothing exceptional to allow the designer to soar into the realms of artistry. One thing however is missing from this list and that is the flooring. Now it is here that the designer has something to get their teeth into. What do they come up with?

Bright, shiny, white or cream floors in ceramic tiles. This is really good, because the light coloured shiny floors set the cars off really well because the majority of them are in relatively dark colours. So in the building or refurbishment programme this is the type of flooring detailed and once laid and cleaned it looks marvellous. Then they start to bring the cars in and the customers walk in and then the trouble starts. Invariably the cleaners are blamed for not cleaning properly. The tiles are smeary, or the trye marks are not being removed, water marks are being left and so the complaints go on.

What is actually happening is that oil and fuel spillages occur, even small amounts are sufficient to create problems. Tyre marks are left on the tiles and new tyres are coated with a resin to make them look shiny and clean and small amounts of this are deposited onto the floor.

Normal cleaning fluids will not remove these completely and they will become spread over all the tiles in time by the mopping or other cleaning process employed. So tyre impressions and footmarks will be clearly visible even after cleaning. The only answer is to clean with a scrubber and a degreasing solution. However this adds considerably to the cost of cleaning the showroom and most garages are not willing to pay this additional sum so they continue to blame the cleaners.

It could be easily solved if patterned tiles were used which would disguise these impressions and then normal mopping and cleaning would be sufficient followed every three months or so by a scrub with degreasing solution.

Have garages or designers twigged this yet? No, because plain tiles have continued to be used in showrooms up to the present day.

There are many ways to make money at home. You can either start your own home business or apply at a company that employs people who can work from home..

The most common ways to make money at home is by starting your own home business. Because of the internet, it is now possible for people to communicate faster wherever they are in the world.

Therefore, it is easier for people to start their own home business and sell their product or services more effectively.

However, starting a home business is not as easy at it seems, you also need to invest a little time and money for your business to work.

If you plan to make extra cash at home, here are some guidelines, much like making a feasibility study, to remember in order to put you on the right track.

Firstly, you need to create a business plan. To do this you have to find out how much money you want to make and the goals you want to reach.

Be realistic, starting your own home business does not mean that you can become a millionaire overnight. Determine how much extra money you want to earn and how much you are willing to invest.

Research what kind of home business you are willing to consider. Make a list of these businesses and try to figure out what suits you best and figure out the demands for each kind of business. Choose one that is easy to set up and one that does not require you to invest a lot of money.

Choose one that does not need much maintenance, for example, perishable goods like fruits and vegetables are a great income generator, but there are too many competitors and it also requires you to spend large sums of money for storage.

Look for a business that does not need these kinds of special care. Remember, you are in a business to make money not lose it.

To help you decide, here are some types of businesses that are great moneymakers:

Import-Export Business

Since we can communicate with anyone from around the world, you can look for a business that exports quality handmade products that are cheap. You can then import these products and sell them by using the internet with a larger price tag.

There are many quality handmade products with great designs and artistry all over the world. For example, you can sell exotic looking carpets from the Middle East that cost $20.00 each, including the packaging fee, and then sell them in your country for a lot more.

Affiliate Programs

This type of home based business has been around for quite a while and it is still popular. This is because this is one of the easiest ways to make money..

You just have to create a theme-based website and find a company to sign up as an affiliate that is relevant to your website’s theme.

For example, your website is about fishing, what you have to do is find a website that sells fishing equipments or fishing tours and vacations.

Once a visitor clicks on the advertising and buys their products or services, you instantly earn commission for the sold product or service. You are paid by just referring people. The key to this business’s success is targeted internet traffic.

There are many types of work-at-home businesses. All you have to do is find out what tailors your needs. Having your own home business can be either a part time job or a full time job.

It is also very convenient especially if you are a single parent who cannot afford to hire a nanny for your children. By doing online business you can make extra cash and take care or look after your children at the same time.

Discover What Prospects Consider Most Important In Deciding On A Company

Who gave the presentation? Is that a surprise? It’s about YOU. People join people, they don’t join companies. So the most important item to prospects by a landslide is "who gave the presentation?" Again, that's from a prospect standpoint. Maybe to us it’s more important to know the company name, how long it’s been in business, who’s the founder, and so forth. The prospect wants to know exactly who gave the presentation. This is a people business, when you care about people, they relate to that.

Up-line support: Back to YOU again, the 2nd most important factor, again won by a landslide. Prospects need to know if YOU will be of any help to them, and will the up-line be any help? So number one is, people join people ... but #2 is pretty much the same. They want to know if they can do it, and their definitely not going to join somebody they don’t like, because then they have to work with them.

Training Provided. Look at this! They aren't even wondering about money yet, we haven’t talked about a company, were still talking about YOU. #3 is about you again. Do you have a conference call we can plug into? Do you have some systems in place to help us be successful? Do you have training? Does the company do training? Are you a good sponsor? Will you help me? A LOT of people aren't sure they can do this. Maybe it's their first exposure to network marketing. But if they know they'll be trained by someone who's good, it raises their belief level. One thing I do with my people, when I work with someone or when I sponsor someone I tell them please, please, listen to this specific tape. Or read this book. And I tell them please do not talk to anybody. I don’t want you to go try to sell your friends & family. Let me work with you, help you get educated on this business. We'll work together to get you successful. So it’s critical that you help that person and give them the training they need. I know some new people get just the opposite. You join and the first thing you hear is, "OK. Let’s go hammer the phones. Make your list today. We'll start calling tomorrow at 5:00PM when you get off work.” I’m saying, "Back up! Don't burn that bridge." If I just joined your business and had no idea what I was talking about, I'd probably say the wrong thing. I'd be excited and leave things out. You’re excited that you joined, but let’s say the right thing, not burn that warm market.

Marketing Plan and Potential Earnings: So were almost halfway through the list. And NOW the prospect is finally wondering, "Can I make some money?" Its not really about can they make some money. Its more, can YOU train me? Can YOU help me make money? And how much money isn't the issue. It’s just, "Can I do this and make some money?" So 1, 2, & 3 were about you. Then we finally get to money. They want to know a little about the compensation plan. Don’t go into great detail, because they probably won't understand much of it, anyway.

Product Line: We finally get to products. Are you paying close attention? Because if you've got a prospect, and you try to tell them the secret ingredients, how the product works or how your long distance service switches work, how deep the cables are buried or whatever your product or service is ...... then you're going at this bass ackwards! People don't care about that stuff. They just want to know, what’s the product? Can I use it? Don't waste time teaching them how many grams of sodium it has. Keep it simple. Let’s recap; first, they need to like the person who did the presentation. So you need to learn a bit about them and identify with them. Next, they want to make sure they can do it. They want to believe. Third, they want to make sure you and the people you work with can train them. Then comes money. Then comes product line. Is that how you had the first 5 on YOUR list? Do you follow this order of importance when you talk to people? What should you remember: People join people, they don't join companies.

Being first in the area: Have you noticed we haven’t even talked about the company yet, but were being first in the area? People don't want to blaze a trail, but the they do want to see there's a large potential to have some growth there.

Company Literature shown. There are a LOT of net workers who focus on the literature. But this isn't a reading business. It's a relationship business. If you don't believe that, take a look at the top 3 on this list again. If you're relying on a sales brochure to sell someone or an audiotape or a videotape, you'd better think again. It’s back to you. If I have a real nice 3D presentation, holograms, smoke and lights, that's great. But if I don't connect with people on a personal level, nothing else matters.

Company Image: Maybe you show a video featuring a 20,000 square foot office & warehouse, on three acres in an exclusive suburb, all the bells & whistles. Big whoop, that’s #8 on their list, barely on the radar. Why bother? They just need to know the company is there, it’s legitimate, not hiding behind some post office box or working out of a storage unit, and will send them a check. That’s basically all they care about at this point. So were almost to the end of what's important to prospects. But I’ve been to a lot of presentations, and "Company Image" tends to be the FIRST thing shown & mentioned. "Hi. My company name is Blah-Blah. They're great. I'm now going to waste 20 minutes of your valuable time & tell you all about them. "A lot of presentations that are done bass-ackwards, from a prospects angle ... which is the ONLY angle that matters.

Is The Sales Kit provided? Now the prospect wants to know that you do have a good video, you do have good literature, and you’ve got tools and services they can use to build their business. So YOU are still the most important thing and the sales kit is almost the least important thing! But how many presentations have you seen where first they talk about the company, and then they show the sales kit? Prospects don’t care. They need to know if you can help them, if the up line can help them. Can they make some money? Can you help them be successful? Which brings us to our final item ...

Company Management experience: LEAST important to the prospect is that the president is a family man, and he's got four or five families to prove it. It does not matter to the prospect. So this whole process is way simpler than most people think: 1. Make sure they like you. 2. Make sure they believe they can do it. If you don't do those two, nothing else matter's, Think about all this for a second, you’re talking to a prospect. You start off with the company management experience, which is the least important thing to them. Now your prospect is leaning back, eyes are glazed over; zoned-out, nodding off. They've heard it all before, and they just don't care. But what if you start with the most important thing first- YOU! Tell them a story about your experience in the business (or your up line’s experience, if you're new). Tell them how you work with people, and exactly what you'll do to help them be successful. THAT is what prospects want.

Checking your Tires on a Monthly Basis is an Important Safely Rule

Pay attention to the condition of your tires. They are an important factor in the safety of you and your fellow passengers while driving.

Tire care and safety is a simple and easy process. In fact the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) recommends that you make a habit of checking them every month. It only takes five minutes. Remember to check the spare too! It is also recommended that you check your tires before a long trip.

Maintaining the correct pressure is essential. In fact under inflation can result in the tire failing. Check your owner’s manual to make sure you know the correct pressure required by your tires. When you do check the pressure make sure the tires are cool. The pressure goes up as the tires get hot from driving. This will give you an incorrect reading. Do not over fill the tire either.

Uneven tire wear can be caused by misalignment of the front or rear wheels. It can also be caused by faulty tire balance. Visually check your tires every month. If you observe uneven tire wear take you vehicle to your tire dealer for their expert opinion. If you notice extremely rapid tread wear this can also be caused by misalignment. While driving misalignment can cause your vehicle to pull or vibrate. If you notice irregular tire wear it is also good idea to have your tires rotated. Speak to your tire dealer about any issues relating to misalignment, tire balance and rotation. The general rule of thumb is to rotate your tires every 6,000 miles. However, always check your owner’s manual for their specific recommendation.

Worn tires can result in hydroplaning or skidding. You should replace your tire if the tread is worn down to 1/16 of an inch. At this point you will also see tread wear indicators appearing on your tire which indicates that the tire is worn out and is in need of replacement.

Other suggestions to maintain tire condition and prevent premature wear includes avoiding driving over objects on the road, avoiding driving over potholes, and avoiding driving over or hitting curbs. It is also recommended that you do not overload your vehicle when driving. Your owner’s manual will give you specifics on maximum loads for your vehicle. Pay attention to your tires. They are an important factor in the safety of you and your fellow passengers while driving. Always consult your tire dealer if you have any suspicions or questions regarding the condition of your tires. They are the true experts.

Eye Protective Selection Is Important In The Workplace

Personal protective equipment for the eyes and face is designed to prevent or lessen the severity of injuries to workers. The employer must assess the workplace and determine if hazards that require the use of eye and/or face protection are present or are likely to be present before assigning a certain type of personal protective equipment to workers.

Personal protective equipment for the eyes and face is designed to prevent or lessen the severity of injuries to workers. The employer must assess the workplace and determine if hazards that require the use of eye and/or face protection are present or are likely to be present before assigning a certain type of personal protective equipment to workers.

A hazard assessment should determine the risk of exposure to eye and face hazards, including those which may be encountered in an emergency. Employers should be aware of the possibility of multiple and simultaneous hazard exposures and be prepared to protect against the highest level of each hazard.

Hazards can fall into five categories:

Impact (Flying objects such as large chips, fragments, particles, sand, and dirt. Produced by chipping, grinding, machining, masonry work, wood working, sawing, drilling, chiseling, powered fastening, riveting, and sanding.)

Heat (Anything emitting extreme heat. Produced by furnace operations, pouring, casting, hot dipping, and welding.)

Chemicals (Splash, fumes, vapors, and irritating mists. Produced by acid and chemical handling, degreasing, plating, and working with blood.)

Dust (Harmful Dust. Produced by woodworking, buffing, and general dusty conditions.)

Optical Radiation (Radiant energy, glare, and intense light Produced by welding, torch-cutting, brazing, soldering, and laser work.)

The majority of impact injuries result from flying or falling objects, or sparks striking the eye. Most of these objects are smaller than a pin head and can cause serious injury such as punctures, abrasions, and contusions.

While working in a hazardous area where the worker is exposed to flying objects, fragments, and particles, primary protective devices such as safety spectacles with side shields or goggles must be worn. Secondary protective devices such as face shields are required in conjunction with primary protective devices during severe exposure to impact hazards. Personal protective equipment examples are:

Spectacles - Primary protectors intended to shield the eyes from a variety of impact hazards.

Goggles - Primary protectors intended to shield the eyes against flying fragments, objects, large chips, and particles.

Face Shields - Secondary protectors intended to protect the entire face against exposure to impact hazards.

Heat injuries may occur to the eye and face when workers are exposed to high temperatures, splashes of molten metal, or hot sparks. Protect your eyes from heat when workplace operations involve pouring, casting, hot dipping, furnace operations, and other similar activities. Burns to eye and face tissue are the main concern when working with heat hazards.

Working with heat hazards requires eye protection such as goggles or safety spectacles with special-purpose lenses and side shields. However, many heat hazard exposures require the use of a face shield in addition to safety spectacles or goggles. When selecting PPE, consider the source and intensity of the heat and the type of splashes that may occur in the workplace. Personal protective equipment examples are:

Spectacles - Primary protectors intended to shield the eyes from a variety of heat hazards.

Goggles - Primary protectors intended to shield the eyes against a variety of heat hazards.

Face Shields - Secondary protectors intended to shield the entire face against exposure to high temperatures, splash from molten metal, and hot sparks.

A large percentage of eye injuries are caused by direct contact with chemicals. These injuries often result from an inappropriate choice of personal protective equipment, that allows a chemical substance to enter from around or under protective eye equipment. Serious and irreversible damage can occur when chemical substances contact the eyes in the form of splash, mists, vapors, or fumes. When working with or around chemicals, it is important to know the location of emergency eyewash stations and how to access them with restricted vision.

When fitted and worn correctly, goggles protect your eyes from hazardous substances. A face shield may be required in areas where workers are exposed to severe chemical hazards.

Goggles - Primary protectors intended to shield the eyes against liquid or chemical splash, irritating mists, vapors, and fumes.

Face Shields - Secondary protectors intended to protect the entire face against exposure to chemical hazards.

Dust is present in the workplace during operations such as woodworking and buffing. Working in a dusty environment can causes eye injuries and presents additional hazards to contact lens wearers.

Either eyecup or cover-type safety goggles should be worn when dust is present. Safety goggles are the only effective type of eye protection from nuisance dust because they create a protective seal around the eyes.

Goggles - Primary protectors intended to protect the eyes against a variety of airborne particles and harmful dust.

Laser work and similar operations create intense concentrations of heat, ultraviolet, infrared, and reflected light radiation. A laser beam, of sufficient power, can produce intensities greater than those experienced when looking directly at the sun. Unprotected laser exposure may result in eye injuries including retinal burns, cataracts, and permanent blindness. When lasers produce invisible ultraviolet, or other radiation, both employees and visitors should use appropriate eye protection at all times.

Determine the maximum power density, or intensity, lasers produce when workers are exposed to laser beams. Based on this knowledge, select lenses that protect against the maximum intensity. The selection of laser protection should depend upon the lasers in use and the operating conditions. Workers with exposure to laser beams must be furnished suitable laser protection.

When selecting filter lenses, begin with a shade too dark to see the welding zone. Then try lighter shades until one allows a sufficient view of the welding zone without going below the minimum protective shade.

Hazards should be addressed and appropriate measures be taken. In many cases hazards can compile, personal protective equipment must be selected to protect all personnel in the workplace. Personal protective equipment should be viewed as a last resort when all other attempts at hazard control have failed.

First Aid Is Important For The Workplace

Knowing first aid in the workplace is very important and at least one person should be certified. Quickly think about what you would do in emergency, knowing what to do when can save someone's life.

There are four major components of workplace first-aid, namely; first-aider, first-aid, box, first-aid room, and first-aid equipment. When deciding on the number of first-aiders, first-aid box, first-aid room and first-aid equipment for the workplace, the following factors should be considered: type of industry, number of workers, number of work shifts, and location of workplace in relation to the nearest hospital or aid station.

If there is a shift work schedule, there should be a sufficient number of first-aiders for each shift based. In a work-site where employees of different employers, such as in construction, are working together. The principal employer should provide and maintain safe systems of work which include provisions for adequate and appropriate first-aider, first-aid box, first-aid room (if needed) and first-aid equipment.

However, the relevant employers may make arrangement where one of them agrees to provide adequate and appropriate first-aider, first-aid box, first-aid room (if needed) and first-aid equipment. The agreement should be recorded in writing and a copy of the agreement should be kept by each employer concerned.

An employer should display a notice, in a prominent place in the work-site, of the names and locations of first-aiders. First-aiders should also be provided with a form of identification for easy recognition. An employer shall, from time to time, recruit or select suitable persons to go for first-aid training. The employer should consider persons with the following qualities to be trained in first-aid: physically fit, free from blood borne infectious diseases, and free to leave their work immediately to respond to an emergency

The training will be a course on first-aid conducted by institutions recognized by a governing body. The local telephone book will have many listings on companies given courses. Depending on the number of trainees, they will come to your workplace. Once trained, first-aiders will need to undergo recertification. Check with the course giver on years of validation. Employers should keep a record of the dates on which first-aiders obtained their training and the dates on which they received refresher training.

In the management of an injured worker or ill worker, first-aiders should:

Give immediate first-aid treatment, keeping in mind that a casualty may have more serious injuries and illness

Arrange without delay for the injured worker(s) to be sent to a doctor,

hospital or home, according to the seriousness of this condition.

This first-aider’s responsibility ends when the injuried are handed over to the care of health care personnel.

A record of the injury and treatment given by the first-aider should be made.

This record shall be kept by the employer for a period of five years.

The record should include information on:

The immediate treatment

Details about the incident/accident including information about the work process involved

Details about injury or work-related illness

Any referral arrangements made such as the usage of local ambulance service, referral to local hospital

Subsequent injury management.

First-aid boxes should be made of sturdy material and be portable so that it can be taken to the site of an incident. The boxes should also be clearly marked and kept current with a written record of contents. Each first-aid box should be placed in a clearly marked area. Where a workplace covers a large area, an adequate number

of first-aid boxes should be provided. Employees should be informed of the location of all first aid boxes.

First-aid boxes should contain a sufficient quantity of suitable first-aid materials.

They should not contain oral medication of any kind other than those required for first-aid treatment. It is essential that first-aid boxes be checked frequently so as to make sure they are fully equipped and all items are usable. Materials used should be replaced as soon as possible. The size and contents will be determined by the number of employees and type of industry. In the first-aid box, it is a good idea to have a quick reference sheet in first-aid and booklet. A quick reference sheet is handy for quick analysis of an injury. Send for one and we can e-mail one.

Four Important Rules In Taking Career Tests

To begin with, some people hate all tests. End of story. Forcing a career tests on your best friend could lead to your premature demise.

Other people like tests, but hate particular kinds of questions. For example, some people dislike "forced-choice questions," where they must pick between two choices that are equally bad, in their view.

Other people dislike "ranking yourself against others" questions, because, with their low self-esteem, they rank themselves poorly in comparison with "others" in almost everything.

Other people do not like "pick occupations you like" questions, because they've learned by experience that all occupations, as commonly practiced, are a mixture of good and bad, and they keep thinking of the bad stuff, when each occupation is mentioned.

Other people do not like questions about how they would behave in certain situations, because they tend to pick how they wish they would behave, rather than how in fact they actually do.

The career test has to feel right to the individual who is taking it.

2. There is no career test that gives better results than others.

You may take a test that gives wonderful suggestions for future careers, but when your best friend takes the same test, their results may be way off the mark. How did that happen?

Tests have personality. With respect to a given test, one person will love its look, feel, taste, and touch, while another person will hate it on sight. Unfortunately, how one feels about a test will definitely twist your results.

3. No career test should be considered to be accurate.

We turn to tests with the hope that someone can definitely tell you who you are and what you should do. A definite no no.

Test results are sometimes way off the mark. On many online tests, if you answer even two questions inaccurately, you will get completely wrong results and recommendations.

There are countless sad stories about people whose lives were sent down a completely wrong path by test 'results' that they believed when they should not have. You should take all test results with not just a grain of salt, but with a barrel.

Tests have one great mission and purpose: To give you ideas you have not thought of and suggestions worth following up. But if you ask them to do more than that, you are dreaming. Also do not forget to take several career tests, rather than just one. You will get a much better picture of your preferences, profile, and good career suggestions from three or more tests, rather than just one.

4. Always trust your intuition to be your guide.

You know more about yourself than any career test does. Treat no test outcome as 'gospel'. Reject the summary the test gives you, if it just seems dead wrong to you.

Trust your intuition. On the other hand, if you really like the suggestions the career test gave you, do not agonize about whether those suggestions are worth tracking down. Just do it and listen to your heart.

Career tests are fun, but reading the results is not enough. You are not done until you have thought hard about what distinguishes you from every other member of the human race.

Nothing wrong with taking all the career tests you can handle until you finally realize that you are a unique individual.
